Description
Desert Dancer by Rebekah Black Small Butterfly - 35" H, 45" Wingspan “I wanted to use Southwestern colors to honor some Colorado culture while still keeping a butterfly template. This way, the butterfly looks realistic, but has a Southwestern feel.” Why FLIGHT? “I work with a lot of kids at the Space Foundation and at School. I see every day, the wonder that art and science brings to students, and I believe that every attempt should be made to provide all students with as much as possible…. After all, these children are our future.” Rebekah is a self-taught artist who enjoys numerous types of art including sculpture, colored pencil and painting. She graduated from Colorado State University-Pueblo in May, 2015, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics and minor in French. Rebekah is also interested in space sciences and technologies and volunteers at the Space Foundation. Rebekah works at an elementary school in District 11 where she shares her love of art with the students.
