Description
Taotie or tiger mask with archaic text on verso, surface calcification. W 6 cm (2 3/8 in.) The following Lots 1151 through 1176 belong to the collection of Irving Langleb. Langleb was a known buyer and collector in Japan during the 1950s through to 1967. He was actively involved in the industry and trade at the time and spent a fair amount of time researching and knowledgably purchasing quality antiques. The jade and stone carvings were offered in our November 25th, 2014 catalogue auction and sold exceptionally well. Sadly the buyers of these wonderful pieces did not settle their outstanding bill. The buyers are: Shi Zhiyong who currently works for Hanhai auction in China and Cai Boyang.
